Jim, this is Jeremy from TekLinks in Bham. I probably haven't seen you since Alan's wedding. Awesome story man. I'll have to hear about those tri stories some day. I've lost about 70 pounds since January 2008 myself and ran my first marathon at Mercedes in February this year. I'm getting ready for the Xterra SouthEast Cup at Oak Mountain in two weeks, that will be my first tri. Any way, look me up sometime.

My weight loss story is on my wife's blog if you want to read it:
http://sanderspartyoffive.blogspot.com/2009/03/...

Jim:
I just have to say...not only should you continue your goal to IRONMAN, but you should make it a goal to go to The Tour...I've been..and it's an experience not to be missed! Congratulations on your journey...you make me pause to think about what I need to do in my workout...I too make race goals, and unfortunately I set my goal too early this year, and slacked off...need to find a new goal, so I can continue to do better workouts.

Amen Robbie, and thanks for the Post. Jim is the man, and I'd use his life accomplishments as much as possible if I were you too! I agree completely on the getting to eat what you want (within moderation) if you can exercise constantly to work it off. If you love food, and you want to treat yourself, just find another way to make it work.

Jim is my big brother, or should I say older brother. As a dietitian I often use his life accomplishments as an inspiring story to my weight loss clients. Exercise has made him an entirely different person! It is very important what you eat, but I do feel that exercise is the cure-all for overall health. You can get away with the hamburgers, pizzas, etc if you are getting great cardiovascular exercise - and it won't even effect your cholesterol a least bit.

Not only does exercise aid in a healthy body it relieves stress, decreases depressive symptoms, boosts your self-confidents and self-esteem, and creates an overall happy quality of life.

Thanks, Jim! We are all so proud of you and love you very much!
