    • Weekend report and challenge wrap-up   The trip to the Twin Cities for the wedding went according to plan. I think it was for the best that Elf and Cleo did not come along. We did not have to manage the logistics of four people. I got to spend some time with my mom on Friday while Dumbledore went off to a coffee house to do some work. We spent time with my family on Saturday at the wedding. I got to talk to my niece and oldest nephew, who I have not seen in a long time. It was a little odd being at a party with a lot of people but not knowing anyone outside my immediate family. I think Elf and Cleo would have been bored and overwhelmed.   Dumbledore and I went to Ikea on Sunday as planned. We have a good idea of what we like and don't like in sofas. I am not thrilled with the options at Ikea. I think we can find something we like just as much from a place closer to home. The issue is taking the time to do the shopping, then renting a truck to move it. Same for a new stove, although I expect the store will do delivery for that.   Challenge wrap-up 1. Meditation went well. I missed two days out of the last 6 weeks. I sat for the full 30 minutes 29/42 days. My mind does not feel as focused and clear as I would like in everyday life. Not feeling clear and focused during meditation is normal. I want to be able to make good decisions about how I spend my time in general. I have some thoughts on this for the next challenge.   2. Cleaning up my eating. Nope. My diet has been a mix of healthy food and treats. Clearly too many treats, since my weight remains high. Stress eating is still a thing. Dumbledore noted that I brought along a lot of emotional support chocolate on our trip. Truth. I don't feel like I ate too much chocolate. The stop at the bakery on Friday morning may have been a mistake. That was not my idea, but I certainly went along with it.   3. Cleaning other things. Some progress. I will keep working on this. I am happy to report that Elf finally washed the kitchen floor over the weekend. The dishes were all clean when we got home. There is plenty to do, and that will be the case for a long time. I need to continue picking one-time projects and ongoing tasks to take care of.   Summary: I feel better mentally and emotionally. This is a good point to add the physical side back in.
    • Not a big tv watcher plus i go through phases of streaming stuff. Right now im not doing much of that, but dead boy detective just got released and i am a big neil gaiman fan so will be binge watching that one.   bottom line, CFS gives you lots of spare time. One of its few upsides. Means i can get a lot of reading in.    if i count all the books in my tbr page for this challenge its 17. Plus i reread maybe 6 or so on top of that and had two i am partially into and just burnt out on.  i definitely get through more books on low months though, as im not doing much else.
    • Low energy continues, still haven't bounced back from the bug i had a couple of months ago.  so, current plan, try to recharge and do everything i can to help this situation. (Yes, this means more napping. No i am not the happiest about this).    so goals and suchlike.    sort sleep cycle:  continue the routine of 10pm lights out and getting up within half an hour of waking   Really want to get this one to become something i don't have to think so much about. When it goes wrong it majorly impacts my energy levels, so its top of the list this challenge. If i dont sleep well, i dont recharge and it basically screws up the next 24hrs+    Afternoon Naps: yes, back again. They help, i dislike them (proof that you can definitely have too much of a good thing).   I am considering bribing myself on this one. Books seem like a sensible enticement.    bard practice: 2x mando practice a week.    good to keep the habit going and it always helps my mood.  Still want to learn chords but am not going to make big goals this month. I can always add extra things later if i feel less exhausted.    Reduce the TBR: I am making this slightly less strict this challenge, due to initial energy levels (which means i can only manage to read certain things. Dyslexia is a pain sometimes kids).  so. Id like to manage 10 books from the TBR. This seems a reasonable number and if i do more then great. Otherwise no pressure.  chances are i will probubly end up buying a few books this month. I have read to death many of my low energy options (yes, i have a folder just of particular books that fit in this category for me.). Looking in the folder of unread low energy picks (yes, also have one of those) i definitely have enough to do 10 with no problem    sorting the room: Ongoing project. Made good progress last month but still lots to do.    currently sorting my art supplies as i want to have a proper bash at learning sketching and calligraphy and just generally getting back into art. There is so much stuff in there and some of it is 20+ years old so i have no idea what is still good. Chances are some of it has gone off, been used up or is stuff id like to update or replace.  also all my beading crud is in there in a big snarl, so that is going to be a fun but time consuming job.    -finish sorting book shelves - finish sorting jewellery hoard (be more ruthless) -sort and organise art supplies -go through blanket box -sort top of desk -finish sorting boxes -sort top of cupboard - frame and hang pictures - take things to charity shop     Miscellaneous  i want to make a point of getting out more. Once or twice a week. Even if its just for a cup of tea. Helps my mood, mood helps my energy. Insert circle of life song here.   bujo is ongoing. Really enjoying the art side of it. At some point i want to start a proper sketch book and do some decent practice drawing hands and flowers and all the things i have in my head but cant currently get onto the page properly. This will obviously not be the month for that, but its in the mix for later.    this months theme is gardening. It just kind of picked itself. I swear i was going to do teacups and then started drawing leaves. Ho hum. the exercise log was fun to do though, so plants won.
    • I haven't read that one...but it may find it's way to my list, too!
    • @Qnobi Oh, wait, I was thinking of Death by Comfort by Paul Taylor.  Maybe I need to read both 🤔
    • 04/28:  218.1  (+3.5)   I wrote off the rest of April in terms of fitness stuff and decided to just eat my way through the week.  Lots of ice cream packed on the surplus and I don't regret it nearly as much as you might think.  I also feel ready to shift course and get back on my program, so the week ahead should be a good one (weather permitting).
    • Thank you for sharing the videos. I have only watched the first one so far. I like his idea of daily logging. That is pretty similar to what I used to do, but with more intention. I have been letting my logging fall off. Trying this approach may help.   Yay for getting a lot of work done! I hope that lets you feel more relaxed and better able to sleep.
    • Hunger won't know what hit it!     Thank you 😊      That book is on my TBR!  I heard a podcast interview with him, and he had some really good ideas.  I might try to prioritize getting to his book this challenge (after I finish the 5 library books I have checked out atm).
    • Browser ate my detailed update, so here's the gist: Challenge is over, you can see the grid (it's not great but not horrible) I'm less lean and more strong Energy levels are still messed up but recovering All the junk food is out of the house ('cause I ate it) Ready to hard-reset and get this Dadbod in to summer shape Challenge done, grid is already running for the next one, hope to see y'all there.
    • Came for the assassining, stayed for the purple-to-black grid. All the best on youe challenge!   BTW, was the 7-minute workout the Corporate Athlete thing?
