    • Discovered this morning i can now fit into my favourite pair of boots, that i haven't been able to do up for several years! Really made my day 😄     they have been knocking around in my room for ages so need a but of tlc. But it feels great to be wearing them again.
    • May I point you in the direction of the Ender series by Orson Scott Card? "Ender's Game" for context, but specifically the "Speaker for the Dead", "Xenocide" and "Children of the Mind" trilogy?
    • …and now im thinking of skyrims giant cave mushrooms
    • Let's just say it's a repackaging of a few old things and leave it at that.   I'm glad you're doing as well as you are.
    • Thursday 2 May Last day at work before my Easter break, closing at 15:00 so of course I had to discover an expiring deadline just half hour before that. Tried to contain my panic and it kinda worked out in the end, because my new boss handled it quite gracefully and there are still ways to work around this. Met some guy to sell off my Curse of Strahd DM screen and Tarokka deck as I'm downsizing on my RPG shelf (also made up the money I spend buying those 3 videogames lol), then walked to a friend's house to pick up my wireless headphones which I'd left lying around last time we met. In the evening, I booked myself a haircut just days before deffy lands so I'll be extra fresh, made a list of things to pack and finished Call of the Sea, which I very much enjoyed. By that time it was almost midnight, but that's never stopped me so I did my Duolingo, then my workout, showered and went to bed.   3x18 Rear Delt Flyes + 3x15 Front Squats (Superset to save time) 3x18 Side Lateral Raises + 3x18 Calf Raises (Another superset, happy I got full ROM on all the side lat raises of all sets) 3x18 Hammer Curls 3x15 Overhead Press 3x12 Decline Pushups (Again, very happy with this one) 3x15 Dumbbell Rows 3x17 Skull Crushers
    • 😆 i can guarantee no metronomes where harmed (or used) in the production of any of the folk round here. The local joke is we dont practice, just rock up at a session and play. The cornish style of music defies metronomes anyway so they’re sort of pointless when traditionally the speed a song is played at varies vastly over the tune.  example: (This one gets faster as it goes, most often the chorus is sung much slower than the rest of the tune. This often carries over in to instrumental music)   Agreed, but i was thinking arachnotaurs or driders like in d&d   😆   agree. Theres a cultural element to otherness that is influenced heavily (but not solely) by anatomy.  This is why i am often disappointed by aliens in book. So many people write them as what i like to refer to as blue humans.
    • Thanks!    I'm hopeful that by keeping it simple but trackable that I will end up with better results, if at least, accountability and habit forming.    I am fairly certain I will not be able to meet my food goal for the first week or two due to the amount of meat in the house that I cannot afford to let go to waste as well as not wanting to upset my girlfriend if she makes dinner without my input. She struggles with serious depression and little things like say "thanks for making dinner, but I won't eat that" is a terrible way to just toss her in the deep end of a sadness spiral.  But then again I did say 2/3 of all meals, which leaves dinner as fair game and since I make my own lunch and am the only one awake for breakfast I might make it through for the first week. This one doesn't count since I was part way through the week before setting the goals.    In other news I got exactly 7 hours of sleep last night unintentionally. Haha, I left my alarm set for 8:45 which is normal for most work days and woke up exactly 7 hours after I laid down and shut my eyes. And like an absolute child I do NOT want to go to bed on time tonight, I want to read a book or play video games but I will be an adult about bed time and I'll do those things tomorrow.    I might not handle bed time tomorrow night well though since I work until midnight. But if I go to bed late but still get 7 hours I'm calling it a win.
    • Showering is a commitment so I get it. I used to have to fight myself to shower because they take forever and I didn't want to get my hair wet.  Now the majority of my showers are quick and I just do face and hit the smelly spots.   Face, pits, under boob, lady bits, butt. If I have more energy or am visibly dirty I'll do more. And I wash my hair 1-2 times per week because I hate washing it. I found buying fun soaps and shampoos helped a bit to encourage me to do a more thorough job.
    • Your clematis is charming! I think it looks great!    Yasss sleep! A good night's sleep can make all the difference.
