    • Well, it finally happened....   Ever since TimovieSon bought his PS5, he's been going on about how much better the controllers were than the PS4 ones... And now he's playing FC24 at "Legendary' difficulty, and winning. Either FC24 has become easier than previous installments or he's playing at a higher level than I ever could, because I never got above "World Class" in any of the FIFA games...   And then we played against each other. I had Man City, he had Arsenal. I won the match 5-4 after extra time (and after trailing 1-3 at half time). And frankly, the only reason I won is because Ederson was Man of the Match and because - as Man City - there's a cheat code called "Erling Haaland". 😅 We then played a match as Club Brugge vs. Club Brugge. Same team, same players. I got my ass handed back to me 2-5.   Just a few months ago, I'd play as Club Brugge with him playing as Man City. I'd win comfortably, and then I'd play with a weaker team until we found a match-up that was close. And now I can hardly beat him with a similar team, much less a weaker one. Oh, how the tables have turned...   So... I have a 9-year-old who's now officially better than me at FC24... 😱
    • I like being prepared. Did the same last year, and about 75% of everything that was played by the bands that I went to see, I had prepared. And I heard 90% of all my prep work Iive, so I'd say I was pretty efficient at it. But it takes months. Festival's in mid-August. And in about two weeks' time, I'll be compiling a list of about 400 songs... 😅     My dad would never play that. He hated most of what came out of the 80s - unless it was by artists who were already around in the 70s... 😅   I had to discover new wave MUCH later. 😁 Unless it was mainstream - then I would have heard it on the radio.   But I did grow up with Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Judas Priest, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, etc. And that's all kinds of awesome. 😎
    • To be honest, if you know where to look, there is a tiny visible stain still. But it's small, pretty light in color, doesn't have any type of texture to it, and the onesie itself is too special to me to throw out for a little stain. Not the first or last item of baby clothing where we've accepted a bit of discoloration!    The good news is that these quests do seem to be helping with the milk production at least a little bit. Not sure if it's being more careful to eat lots of protein, drink lots of water, eat the lactation cookies, or what, but I did calculate my average started at 13.6 ounces per day and last week I averaged 14.8 every day. A small increase, but an important one! Baby Girl is drinking 15 ounces most days so the fact that I'm getting SO close to that mark is really exciting, even if I am super annoyed that it's taken this much work and I'm still falling ever so slightly short...   Challenge update: Quest 1 - Nutrition Breakfast/lunch - More breakfast egg wraps (will I eventually get tired of these? Yeah, probably, but not yet apparently!) and then lunch yesterday was...is it bad I don't remember, but I know I brought a big pile of food with me to work and ate almost all of it?? 88 ounces of water - Done yesterday with a final total just shy of 120 ounces, yay! I'm currently at 76 ounces for the day so I should hit 88 pretty easy. Going to bump up to that 96 mark tomorrow, I think!    Quest 2 - Movement “Extra movement” - nothing yesterday, it was a beautiful night for baseball practice but Baby Girl and I ended up staying home because she was so cranky and hungry   Quest 3 - Family Quilt - no more progress yet Weekly post on Moment Garden - Got the "celebrity sunglasses baby" photos up! I'd still like to get a second post up for my son this week...we'll see, there's nothing coming up in the next few days off the top of my head at least...   Quest 4 - (28 days of) Work Spanish 3 and 4 curriculums - At 15 out of 18 still   ER quizzes - still at 8/15 Japanese - Still failing at this, I didn't even touch it yesterday despite posting about it and telling myself to get back to it 🤷‍♀️
    • I know what this is like. It's frustrating, because there's this place you're trying to get to and now you have to work really hard to spin your wheels and go nowhere closer. It's not fun.   It may help to reframe your situation as one where you have maintained progress even in the face of your obstacles. It's just that your obstacles are pushing you back harder, so the progress keeps you in place rather than sliding back and away from where you want to be.   As far as bomb-proofing things, I'm... still figuring that out myself. ;;; I can't help thinking that there's something useful in the idea of exercise programming where the trainee tries to perform a given pattern of movement and isn't necessarily concerned with the specific move (like, doing a deadlift or a kettlebell swing for a Hinge, for instance). So, maybe having something that you want to accomplish and having a lot of ways to count the thing as being done? But IDK. Mileage is definitely going to vary with that approach depending on the task. There's no substitute for a good night's sleep (but then, maybe napping as a goal to mitigate? Maybe).

    • I'm sorry you're getting sick, but yay recorded swims and prizes!!
    • I walked to work today for the first time since I started in September! It went well and took 18 minutes. I wasn't particularly hustling, but had a good pace. I wore my Soucany sneakers with my orthotics and my feet feel pretty reasonable. Hopefully I get through my shift with no issues. Would be nice to make this a regular thing in good weather!
    • Hrmph. I'm annoyed. I put aside all my procrastination and inertia to call my doctor's office to move my appointment sooner and they have nothing sooner than the appointment I already have at the end of next month. Dumb.   I really hope that when I do have my appointment, my doctor handles it well. This will be the first time I've come to her with a medical problem, as opposed to routine health stuff. She's been great for the normal stuff, but how she response with an actual concern is TBD.
