Life Updates
Had some lifting friends from a former gym reach out about an impromptu tattoo party last night. These friends are a blended family of body goals husband and wife and their many step children. Everyone in the family is kind and working to meet their own needs, while also having plus sized bodies; did my heart good to see body positivity and health on display in a family setting.
Liam got a House Sivis least dragonmark of scribing to celebrate his graduation, and I got a Veles bull’s head symbol, placed so it’s visible while deadlifting with mixed grip. For designs we picked on 6 hours notice, we’re both pretty happy, but Liam might get his line work thickened up this fall.
Week zero of the challenge has felt appropriately sized. Not perfect on green checkboxes, relative to challenge habit goals, but things feel in reach. Task haven’t been started yet, but I have steps scheduled. Fingers crossed.

Given the food shenanigans last Sunday, I should be glad it's down.
But given the four good days (including 3 days with a 1000+ calorie deficit!!!) immediately after, it's still a bit disappointing...
Thank you. I need all the help i can get
Since we rolled the last challenge over minus a week. So maybe a month 😕
admittedly i have been walking less in this time bracket, but was hoping to lose something on slightly more calories.
Im going to stick with the 1450kal for a bit longer anyway, want to give it a good crack. But it is frustrating.
I fucking love this pony.
I like your persistence.
Good luck. I feel like we have at least some similar brain wrangling issues, if for different reasons.
In my liberal arts degree I did formal logic. But I love hippie wellness shit. Have you thought about surrounding yourself with some natural river or desert stones to absorb and neutralise your scepticism?
Here, too! I was confused because they came out and there was no sarakingdom challenge. Every year when they come out I realise with a hideous sensation of a sudden fall that I wasted another year and did nothing. They're all wilting now.

Hi!!! 👋
In previous years, we’ve designed a set that spans the country with a loose theme like “work” or “travel.” We sing a fair bit in French and added Ukrainian the last couple years. Probably my favourite thing we sing is The Kettle Valley Line, and the best known (so far) is A La Claire Fontaine (we actually once did an entire set of four different tunes to the same words for that one, haha).
This year we are planning to do a Wade Hemsworth set. You might know this giant of Canadian folk music for The Log Driver’s Waltz and The Blackfly Song, both of which were made into delightful NFB short films. We’ll probably do the waltz, it will be a crowd pleaser, but I’m stoked to maybe bring some of his lesser-known songs onstage, or maybe some of the songs he collected/popularized as well as his original compositions.
We sing a cappella, no instruments, so the vibe is a bit different, but I think we put on a good show. Maybe this year we’ll get some good video of ourselves, haha. Not that open-air festivals are the best place for a live recording…
