    • I fucking love this pony.      I like your persistence.      Good luck. I feel like we have at least some similar brain wrangling issues, if for different reasons.
    • In my liberal arts degree I did formal logic. But I love hippie wellness shit. Have you thought about surrounding yourself with some natural river or desert stones to absorb and neutralise your scepticism?      Here, too! I was confused because they came out and there was no sarakingdom challenge. Every year when they come out I realise with a hideous sensation of a sudden fall that I wasted another year and did nothing. They're all wilting now.

    • Hi!!! 👋    In previous years, we’ve designed a set that spans the country with a loose theme like “work” or “travel.” We sing a fair bit in French and added Ukrainian the last couple years. Probably my favourite thing we sing is The Kettle Valley Line, and the best known (so far) is A La Claire Fontaine (we actually once did an entire set of four different tunes to the same words for that one, haha).    This year we are planning to do a Wade Hemsworth set. You might know this giant of Canadian folk music for The Log Driver’s Waltz and The Blackfly Song, both of which were made into delightful NFB short films. We’ll probably do the waltz, it will be a crowd pleaser, but I’m stoked to maybe bring some of his lesser-known songs onstage, or maybe some of the songs he collected/popularized as well as his original compositions.      We sing a cappella, no instruments, so the vibe is a bit different, but I think we put on a good show. Maybe this year we’ll get some good video of ourselves, haha. Not that open-air festivals are the best place for a live recording…
    • I like this game, but I think I chose my skills and team mates poorly, so time to revisit and start again.  This time I'm going to focus more on  living with satisfaction, prioritizing people who prioritize me (including me 😃), and finding joy.    Let's see what that might look like.   Satisfied living: take time to enjoy my world, through quiet time just being alive be someone I respect complete tasks in a timely manner make quality foods that I enjoy but which also fit my current goals finish my pile of sewing projects before the end of this challenge, or at least get the fittings done. run- or walk- 3 days, strength 2 days   prioritize people divorce progress is a huge part of this.  I have little control of how it progresses, but mostly don't respond to his baiting messages spend time with people who love me.  We are starting a new game night! refocus on self-care.  Limited alcohol (this has become very easy,) plan good lunches and snacks, continue to return to running clean up the dang house before parents get back   find joy I think this mostly looks like be in the moment retraining my brain to not be on guard as much- recognize why the guard is there and how to settle it make lists.  so many lists.  As I think of things that I miss because I put them aside to care of someone else's brokenness, write them down.  Don't forget them again. take my self out places.  Meet-ups, movies, lunch, whatever catches my fancy.   But first thing is clean all the things.  I almost feel like I'm 30 years younger doing that panicked 'the parents are coming home. aaaaaahhhh!'  Not that I'm messy, but I do have about 6 sewing projects in some degree of progress spread around the house.  And of course I haven't vacuumed or worried too much about putting away laundry.  Why bother?  it was just me.  But now I only have 3 days and I have to ugh mop.    Divorce melodramatics:  We had a hearing 2.5 weeks ago.  We both received notification in the same way, snail mail.  He was a no-show for the hearing.   Courts do not like that.  Guess who got nasty emails and texts for not telling him about it.  For real "you didn't tell me about the hearing."  I take that as I was doing too much thinking for two people for too long.  Anyway,  every day I'm feeling a little bit lighter
    • I wish you the wholesome satisfaction of cleaning up those habits and hitting the intended bullseye instead of the five minutes adjacent to it.
    • Laghail I didn't see the gargoyles show when I was a child, but the illustration style and introduction speech seem very much like the cartoons I did watch on Saturday mornings in the 90s. Good luck with your gargoyleous challenge.
    • I agree the levels are not quite right, and it shocked me to see centaurs and nagas so low on the scale. Shocked I tell you. I also like that you've thought this through carefully.     True. I mean you could have an entirely humanoid monster who kills and eats innocent bystanders. Or a fully humanoid human, even.
    • I wish you great ruthlessness, efficacious naps, and happy sketching.     Eichelhäher! They are pretty but screechy.      Since when? If it's less than two weeks, don't worry about it just keep going.     If the calories are the same it shouldn't make any difference to your weight, though it may impact your satiety and wellbeing.       So painful. I know it well.
    • This fits super well with what I've been thinking about. My attempted routines keep getting interrupted, and I keep thinking I've failed them. But I heard something awesome on a podcast about how, if we feel that failure is likely because we fear running out of motivation, we rush at our goals. But if we know our goals are inevitable given enough time, we can slog toward them more steadily. Together with something Hatter said (I think it was you, Hatter) about how persistence might look like continually circling back to our desired habits rather than sticking to them with an unbroken streak.  What if success is a slow spiral, not a speedy straight streak?  What if an interruption is not a failure because we know that, if it's important, we'll be back to it sooner or later?  My additive object is just Xs in my bujo habit tracker. But they're a running tally rather than a flawless streak. I trust they will be weighty enough to help tip the balance, even though they are just a tiny amount of ink. They have figurative weight.
