My Story

I am 38 years old, and when I found NF i was way over weight, discouraged, eating too much, and feeling guilty about it. I have a wonderful friend who mentioned the site and I checked it out.

I played football in High School and loved it, but after it was done, I kept eating like it. I got into college and started studying a lot and my eating habits went to hell; I started eating too much and working out did not happen, but I walked everywhere.

Once I got out of college I kept on eating the same, but drove to work, and sat at a desk all day, boy did things get bad..... went from 300 lbs when I started at my job to 385 lbs. about 7 years later. At that time I met my now wife, and suddenly I had a reason to care about the future, and a person to look good for. We have been married now for 5 years and are expecting our first child (Jan 2016).

I am blessed beyond belief, and have many great influences in my life (Wife, Church family, Friends of all types), but I still struggle with self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence.

The guys in my Church are a huge influence on me and have helped greatly. This last summer (2015) we took a trip to Wyoming, Idaho and Montana to bike, hike, and have a good time. I was not in the best shape, but I kept up my end of the deal and finished all of my objectives (twice as long as everyone else, but I finished). I hiked, biked and toured all over Idaho, Jackson hole Wyoming, and Yellowstone for a week solid.

Currently a Rebel, but may change to some sort of mutant Warrior Adventurer.
