    • My feet seemed to recover quick enough. They were basically back to their "normal" yesterday.    I haven't done much today because I've mostly been watching the puppy by myself. Mr.R and I trimmed Lunas nails. I played with the dogs. I managed to work on making some pixel art for my tamagotchi app. I added more chair workouts to my playlist on YouTube. And finally I microwaved some brussel sprouts to have with my leftover Chinese food because we had it for lunch and my stomach has felt like an empty hole since.    I need to go on more adventures with my Winnie girl. I miss going out with her. I think I'm struggling a bit with finding energy to do certain things. If I'm not at my parents working for $$ then I need to be home watching the puppy or working on my app so I can get a job. I also haven't seen Daisy since my last lesson. I'll be going in the next few days though because I need to pay my board. I'm hoping I earned enough to pay it. I haven't counted up my money yet.
    • I'm loving your trackers. How fun!
    • I hope the biopsy went smoothly without too much discomfort
    • Hey Whisper! I love the glitter nail polish.   It sounds like you are doing great overall despite the hiccups ❤️ I'm proud of you for making it to the museum, for figuring out lunches that work for you and trying out dinners. Great job.    I am currently struggling with the "small thing" of trying to figure out dinners as well. It might seem small but it can actually be quite large just because of the amount of dinners we need to eat! That's a lot of choices and effort. I'm thinking of going the potatoes/sweet potato, heap of veggies and protein route. Trying to keep it simple. I don't know if you have a slow cooker but I found it very easy and quite tasty to throw some chicken breast with chicken broth and cook it on low for 8hrs. You can shred the chicken and use it in a bunch of things. Salad, tacos, pasta, sandwiches, wraps or on its own.
    • Week 5 roundup!   Run 🌟 Additional Movement 🌟 Music practice 🌟🌟 Nature Appreciation 🌟 Meditation 🌟   Bonus?   Sociability  Adventure runs Photos 🌟   Running total 35 🌟   I did it! Maybe by exploiting a loophole in my star system (I practiced my music more than once this week…like all but one week since the last concert finished) and busting out a last-minute meditation session, but honestly the meditation felt really good and while I’m disappointed that I didn’t manage the seed of a habit, still every mind-clearing time is a lovely gift to myself. I re-downloaded the Oak meditation app rather than just sitting with silence or music, and I think that was beneficial. Part of me is like “if you have someone telling you every 2 minutes to meditate, you’re not really meditating” but a bigger part of me is like “the best way to meditate is THE WAY YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO IT.”   I went pretty hard on my run today, 11.5km and managing about 7 minutes/km (although I did have to take a ~6-minute bathroom break 😳). Saw a friend out walking with her mom - will see her again for board games this evening! It’s gonna be a fun night, an old friend is in town and I also invited a mutual acquaintance from elementary school/junior high that I reconnected with a few months ago. Plus my regular gaming buddies. It will be a full house!   The camas is out all over, probably hitting full bloom in the next week or so. I saw a white one right by the trail - it’s so lovely. My native plant garden in the front is still looking like nothing, but there are adorable yellow violets (I know, I know, but that’s what they are!) in my back fern garden.   My vocal ensemble, we have a longstanding tradition of singing through the whole set list  in order, sometimes several times. I’m usually the one advocating for skipping it and working things that need work even if that means we only sing half the set today and the other half next time. But this time it was me who suggested it, haha. I had an inkling there was a bad transition in there but I didn’t want to argue with the person who suggested it…I figured either she or I would get it in context and it was the right move. I still want to actually hear that section in the new order next time, but it was clear to us all that something needed to change.    A few pics under the cut, including the time I was listening to the Brahms on YouTube while cooking dinner, then at a lull in my prep, leaned on the counter for a couple minutes and apparently made an appealing shelf.    It’s been a slice, folks. Ready for the next one, hope to see you there (and maybe be a bit more successful at posting more than just weekly updates/in my own thread 😅)
    • I know when I did keto the cravings were pretty strong for a week or two but then suddenly just went away and I was able to resist sugary things like cakes, donuts, pastries which I have a huge sweet tooth. Obviously I wouldn't expect them to go away in the same way if I am still keeping some sugar in my diet.    Yuuup I totally can see where that story is going and if I was in the same scenario I would have done the same (well maybe not with minced pies but with some other sweet!).    Thank you, these suggestions are helpful. I am torn on the energy balls lol for some reason dense  circle pastry desserts weird me out (energy balls, cake pops, etc) but chocolate orange has peaked my interest. I loveee orange chocolate.    I will need to go check out her thread. I don't think I have in awhile.    I will check it out. I feel I tried it out a long time ago and preferred MFP but it's probably changed a lot since then. And MFP mobile I don't exactly love anyways.    I almost bought myself what looked like an adult sized portioned plate for this reason exactly. It was a bear and a nice soft coral pink. I told myself no though since I don't have money. I do like the idea of still being able to have the occasional dessert or bread but I am curious to see how my body feels eliminating certain things. But to your other point it is very difficult and if I am struggling with structure and "food rules" maybe it is a bit more of a drastic route and I am probably not ready for it yet.    Yah I think the plate guideline and keeping my foods more on the "whole food" or mostly home cooked side will help a lot with just lessening the sugar amounts I am having. And that is probably a good start for now.    Ahh you guys are awesome ❤️ thank you so much @Sea-to-sky @Sovalis and @Snarkyfishguts for the advice, opinions and kind responses. You have all given me some food for thought and I think I know which direction I would like to take for now. It won't be a cold turkey approach to no sugar but it will be an effort to eat more whole foods and home-cooking being mindful of portions and try to have more veggies and protein. If I want something sweet I will either make it from scratch (with a healthier recipe) or choose something like fruit. My goal right now is to clean up my diet and eat in a deficit (without counting calories). I need to lose weight badly.
    • Well starting back at it. Ruptured my left ear with sinus issues. They were weak anyway from old ruptures from years ago. Finally healed and I can but over without pain and heart beat in my ear. Ah injuries!   Back into with with an easy day.   45 min walk Push Ups 2x10  Squats 2x10 Planks 1x60 Sec    Everything super slow and controlled.
    • Well, the good news is, last night I finished enough work that the pressure is slightly off and I can think about my challenge again! Just in time to.... oh.   Well, I think I've got my next two challenge themes all set, I just need to decide what to actually do on them.     (I really did get an amazing and frankly relieving amount of work done yesterday. If I can do half as well today and tomorrow, I'll be in great shape for next week's deadlines.)
    • Friday 26 April  Cooking: Single point for making a lunch burrito that I took with me to work. Easter is next week so we were busy lining up everything, making sure we don't miss any upcoming deadlines etc. Left work at 20:30 feeling wrecked, carried some beauty products I'd grabbed and a 5kg pack of catfood as I walked back home, smashed a pizza and went to sleep early.
