I'm an Artist - I shall do Artsy things

Draw one unique comic book page 50 XP
I want to get back into drawing some comics on the side, just for personal enjoyment. I drew a children's book 15 years ago and would love to resurrect. I think if I just get one page drawn, it will awaken the passion again.

My Story

In July of 2013 my weight had eclipsed 310 pounds. All of my adult life I've been over weight. I've felt helpless and hopeless. I was convened it was all "genetics" and was beyond my control.

I (like Steve) am a fan of Tim Ferris. I'd read his first book, "The Four-Hour Work Week" and was starting to hear more and more about "The Four-Hour Body". I read it and immediately started a Slow-Carb diet. Later I discovered Nerd Fitness and the Paleo diet. I now practice a combination of the two. I'm on a slow-carb-paleo-ish diet. I lost 100 pounds in about a year and have kept it off for more than a year. I went from a 3X shirt to a Large. Amazing!

This transformation has done just as much (maybe more) for my mind as it has for my body. I've learned how to overcome obstacles. I've learned how to set priorities. I've learned that no challenge is too great. I will continue to learn, and grow and change. And that is the best part about transformation - it is a process, a journey, and the point is not to reach the end of the journey, but to take it!

I joined Nerd Fitness because I sincerely believe that I need to be helping people overcome weight, health and fitness issues. It's isn't genetic nearly as much as it is culture and habit. We have to help people escape! We have to help them REBEL!

Since joining Nerd Fitness, Staci introduced me to Power Lifting and a friend persuaded me to start taking some TaeKwonDo classes. Now I'm in love with both! My quests will help me stay focused on lifting heavier weights, earning new belts, designing awesome things for Nerd Fitness and leading my family through setting positive examples and discipline.

"With great power there must also come—great responsibility!"
