Coach Damien knows what it’s like for your body to hold you back from the things you want in life. Born prematurely, his body never really quite worked correctly: always clumsy, always injured, always sore. This was a total bummer because he loved sports; after a series of serious injuries, he knew he needed to approach things in a smarter way.
Damien learned all he could about mobility, injury mitigation, strength training, and even nutrition so he could fuel his own body with what it needed. Ultimately, he knew he wanted to help others do the same and became a coach, teacher, and personal trainer.
Damien’s an empathetic, approachable Coach whose aim is to guide you toward long-lasting habit change and improved self-confidence. He balances science with your lifestyle to collaborate on a plan that allows you to enjoy what you love as you move closer to your goals.

Coach Damien is awesome to work with; he’s always happy to work with you to make sure your workouts are something that you feel are challenging but still achievable and to work with you to adjust things if you feel like something might be too challenging. He’s always happy to answer questions about anything you might ask, whether that’s how to do a new exercise, specifics about nutrition, etc. He takes the time to really listen and takes that into account when he’s planning new exercise or nutrition goals, or if you’re having an off week or had some real-life thing come up, he’s quick to reassure you that those setbacks are temporary and you can keep kicking butt once you’ve gotten past those setbacks.

When I first started working with Coach Damien, I had achy joints that constantly dislocated and I had no aspirations other than getting some relief. Damien worked with me to build up strength in my joints and then encouraged me to give running a shot. I still have a hard time believing it – but I have just completed my first half marathon, and I am doing my first FULL marathon this year! Not only am I physically more capable (and the dislocating problem is gone), but thanks to Damien’s encouraging and positive attitude, I have found an exercise I actually look forward to and am passionate about! Coaching with Damien has been a genuine LIFE change for me, you rock coach D!

I’ve been working with Damien for a couple of years now, and I’m seeing terrific changes in my body as a result. He outlined a good routine for me to follow and keeps it balanced with my other activities and hobbies. He provides helpful feedback on form checks, always has a kind word when I check in with him and keeps me motivated to achieve my health goals.

I’ve really enjoyed working with Coach Damien. His encouragement, timely nudges, and ability to adapt my program on the fly have enabled me to be much more consistent with my workouts. His understanding of physiology and injury prevention/recovery have also been essential for me as I’ve worked through a number of physical challenges. Plus he keeps things fun!

Coach Damien is the best fitness coach I’ve ever worked with. He is everything that I would want out of a coach; he’s very knowledgeable, insightful, and has very good interpersonal skills, which makes training great, easy, and exciting. I really enjoy the exercises he gives me, and any adjustments to the program are easy. He really knows his stuff, and when investing in something like Nerd Fitness, you want someone who is the perfect fit, and for me – Coach Damien is that.

Damien always meets me where I am at. He not only tailors my workout plan to capture my gains, but he listens and helps get the whole picture when things are not going right. Damien excels at injury recovery, timing restorative workouts while building strength workouts back in to get you back in the game. Damien encourages all types of movement instead of rank-and-file monotony; this is genius, especially when we get into ruts or are overwhelmed with life.

What are you passionately nerdy about?
If my answer above doesn’t tip you off… VIDEO GAMES! I love them. From my early days with Sonic on the Sega Genesis and Tony Hawk and Siphon FIlter on the Playstation all the way through to present-day masterpieces like God of War and Personal 5 Royal. Video games have always been a way for family and friends to bond, and now, living across the country from my brother, they are how we stay in touch.
