Coach Evan could be the Coach for you!

Coach Evan’s origin story mimics that of many Rebels in our community…
Overweight and out of shape as a kid, he battled injuries, depression, mindset hurdles in finding “the right way” to get in shape, and extreme approaches to diet and fitness that ultimately didn’t serve his goals.
The road to getting healthy is a long and winding one, and Evan brings this empathy and perspective to each and every one of his Coaching relationships.
As a personal trainer for more than 10 years, Evan’s approach includes creating a meaningful connection with each client, understanding each challenge you present, and working together on a plan that serves your goals while balancing normal life.
In addition to his education in fitness, he also earned his certification from Precision Nutrition and can support nutrition progress at any level.

I feel that Coach Evan clearly understands my health goals and is invested in helping me achieve them. He supports my need to progress at a comfortable pace but has an uncanny ability to know when I need encouragement to take things to the next level. He listens to everything I share due to his thoughtful responses and advice. The plan he’s helped me create is engaging and aligns with my goals. I especially appreciate his positivity, humor, and authenticity!

On the path to better physical and mental well-being, life can throw obstacles your way. Injuries, emotional setbacks–it’s easy to give in to those down moments. To wallow or take so many steps back, you fear ever catching up again (much less getting ahead). During those times, Coach Even always has a ready hand to lift me back up and get me through. He tweaks my workouts, suggests alternate routines and activities, and offers stress-reducing options and nutritional guidance. All of this is helpful and what I hoped for when signing up for Nerd Fitness coaching. But what sets Coach Evan apart, what I didn’t expect–his compassionate and authentic concern for his clients. He’s supportive, kind, and always non-judgemental. He’s personable and funny–always quick with a recipe, meme, or infographic (infographics rule). He’s real–he gets those obstacles along the journey and offers practical navigational guidance. In short, he’s the best! My overall well-being is absolutely improving because of Nerd Fitness and Coach Evan.

Evan excels at figuring out what I need – even when I have no idea myself. Normall,y that involves giving advice on workouts or nutrition, but it also extends to general communication. If I’m feeling quiet and don’t want to do much talking or messaging, Evan is receptive to it. He meets me where I want to be met while also knowing when to gently push me to reach new goals and heights that he genuinely believes I can achieve. He has an intuitive sense of what I need. While I love the Nerd Fitness ethos and system, Evan is truly why I believe in the long-term viability of the coaching program.

Working with Evan has transformed my fitness journey. His supportive approach and adaptability have made it both effective and enjoyable. Thanks to his guidance, I’ve lost 40 lbs and feel motivated to keep progressing.

I’ve loved working with Coach Evan. He’s an easygoing, easy-to-talk-to guy who’s packed full of knowledge and insight on fitness and nutrition. I love that he will send me articles to read and videos from various creators unprompted to supplement my understanding and journey and that he looks out for my well-being and respects the stories I shared during my initial assessment. He makes fitness fun, has helped me rediscover my love for weightlifting, and celebrates my small wins with me. Evan is all around a fantastic coach!

Star Wars or Lord of the Rings
I was first captivated by Star Wars while watching A New Hope in my 4th-grade science class (go public education!). Instead of being a smart kid with a savings account, I blew whatever money I had on Star Wars merchandise. I hope those boxes of unopened figurines stored away are worth more now.
Favorite Video Game of All Time
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial on Atari! Just kidding…
Sheesh, only one? I can’t believe no one has mentioned The Oregon Trail yet. Let’s give credit to our teachers for letting us play video games at school. If we are going down this road of awesomeness, it’s probably best to classify this in past/present terms due to the evolution in the gaming industry.
Past games: Super Mario Brothers 3 and Super Mario World were the foundation of my youth. Goldeneye 007 led to many all-night gaming sleepovers and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an absolute masterpiece (and already 20 years old!)
Present games: The Last of Us is fantastic and feeds my post-apocalypse interests. The Grand Theft Auto series taught me how to drive properly, and I may or may not have logged hundreds of hours playing Fallout 4.
What are you passionately nerdy about?
Video games, can’t you tell?
I’m also a sucker for 80’s Sci-Fi/adventure movies: Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Aliens, Terminator to name a few. (Please, pleeease don’t let Robert Pattinson take over in Indiana Jones 5)
The subject of history fascinates me, especially World War II. Oh, and let’s not forget bourbon history and its rich lore.
